Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) - martial arts (often called "fighting without rules"), which are a combination of many techniques, schools and styles of martial arts. MMA combines striking technique and fighting in stance (clinching) and on the floor (ground floor).

Early mixed martial arts competitions have a minimum of rules and in connection with the criticism of the sport as a "massacre" were introduced additional restrictions to improve the safety of athletes and attract new audiences. Modern MMA is one of the fastest growing sports.

Modern MMA rules have changed considerably since the first battles. The main motivating factors began to change the rules of the need to protect the health of the fighters and the desire to get rid of the stereotype of "human cock fighting", characteristic of the early 1990s. Rules include the division into weight classes, using special gloves, additional limitations in the methods and the time frame for matches.
